I have discovered that it is a lot easier to get work outs in when on vacation. I have to figure out a way to stay focused in the next few months and my goal is not to miss another work out. I haven't done very well the past month, usually only completing 3 of the four runs a week. This week though I have been able to do them easily.
I needed a little extra motivation this week and I got it!
I got a shout out on my favorite podcast. Super rad! Totally made my day!

Warm GU
13 miles, 2 hours 7 mins. It was rough but it felt amazing! All thanks to my new BFF GU. I had read a lot about people using GU for long runs and with 13 miles looming I figured I should do something by way of nourishment. It was exactly like it sounds, gooey. It helped a ton, and I felt like I had energy the entire run. It was still hard, believe me. I felt like I had to throw myself at the lamppost marking 13 miles, but I didn't feel like I was dragging my body the last three miles, like the last time either. The one problem was where to put it. I had to stick them in my bra, so they were nice and warm also, yuck. TMI?

Superwoman!
When I am running I feel like a super hero. People are always like "watch out for cars, blah blah blah." Well yesterday I almost got ran over by this car, or more accurately, I almost ran it over. I really do feel invincible though. Probably not the most practical thing in the world, but I am gonna roll with it. I ran ten miles again yesterday and it felt pretty awesome. It wasn't easy, obviously, but it was easier than the first time. That's what they call progress!
